Lady Tarita A. Brown

Tarita Brown is the first lady of Refreshing Springs Church of God in Christ, where she proudly serves with her husband of 42 years, Superintendent, Pastor A. Wendell Brown Jr.  Her love for God is evident in her servitude and exemplified through her ministry to the congregation and community. She is a lover of people and is a supporter to women of all generations. She currently serves as Director of the Women’s Department.

First Lady Brown is a 1979 Graduate of Haworth High School in Kokomo, Indiana. She began her college education at I.U.P.U.I., in Indianapolis, Indiana, and graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with an Associate of Science in Business. Growing up in a family who feared God and receiving salvation at age 15, First Lady Brown is a natural born leader because she embraces hearts with wisdom and the true word of God. As an unfaltering servant at Refreshing Springs, she labors as Director of the Women’s Department with several departments under her leadership. Lady Brown retired as a department secretary from Delphi Corporation in 2006. She has served on2 major Kokomo Boards; The Kokomo Rescue Mission and Bona Vista.

She has received many prophecies of “having blessed hands”, which has been manifested in the achievements she enjoyed as “The Cake Lady”. She was the owner and operator of a successful bakery, which she had for many years, putting out as many as 85 wedding cakes a year as well as additional cake type requests. She closed her shop in 2013 to concentrate on the ministry. In addition to her already busy schedule, she is the International Sewing Circle Artistic Fingers President for the Churches of God in Christ worldwide and currently works at Young Hearts Academy as the Office Administrator, hoping to retire again someday soon. Her hobbies include circuiting, sublimating, sewing, crocheting, decorating and working with computers.

Lady Brown is also a licensed Evangelist Missionary in the Church of God in Christ. Although she is mild-mannered, she speaks with power. These characteristics compliment her love for God’s people and display an unselfish and humble attitude when it comes to the call of ministry.

“Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. The heart of

her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She

will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.”
