About Refreshing Springs Women

Overview: The Women's Ministry of Refreshing Springs church exists to build a community of Godly women; building upon the current strength of the women through establishing a clear mission, vision, and value guide that will provide a long-lasting foundation of strength and purpose. We will serve by developing, coordinating and administering an effective and comprehensive women’s ministry which will meet the diverse needs of every woman at Refreshing Springs COGIC. We will stand unified, as one body united in Christ, as we support the vision and ministry of our pastor, Superintendent A. Wendell Brown and the church.

Supports the leadership and ministry vision God has given our Director, Lady Tarita A. Brown. Works closely with Lady Brown to help assist with the needs of the women and help provide direction to all leaders who have been assigned to leadership roles. Assist in providing ways to teach, disciple, encourage and empower the woman of all ages and stages of life.

This ministry reaches and encourages the younger women and each other to live life to the fullest. We believe that unity builds the Kingdom of God, therefore we agree to fellowship often. We enjoy going out to eat, visiting the sick, and celebrating holidays. Our mission is to be a light of wisdom, love and encouragement for others.

Our goal is to teach our women confidence, live life with no limits and narrowing the gap of unachievable to achievable by using Godly principles. Most women are going through many of the same challenges that others are facing; by sharing their personal stories, we can help each other gain a sense of hope, strength and faith to overcome obstacles and succeed.

YOUNG WOMEN OF EXCELLENCE

Young Women of Excellence is a ministry focused on instilling values into our young lady teenagers from the ages 13-18. With customized teaching plans and thoughtful youth centric events, we assist in the process of blossoming them all into godly young ladies. Our belief is; it really does take a village to raise a child. We aim to meet about 4 times a year, but the bond that we build together lasts all year long.

ALWAYS SISTERS

We go to a neutral place for 2 days away from family, home, and the church to unwind, relax, rejuvenate and feed our inner spiritual man. Burdens are released as we yield ourselves to God. We laugh, have lessons and we cry. It provides a separation from the daily responsibilities to refresh, renew and grow in your spiritual walk. We are always sisters, always friends, let’s stay real close till the end, forgiving each other, letting Love cover, always sisters, always friends.

WOMEN'S SCHOLARSHIP

The Refreshing Springs women's ministry scholarship is faith based and designed to provide financial assistance to a high school graduate that is an active, faithful member of a local church.

Our selection is based on the students' diligent participation in ministry at their church and volunteering in the community with strong spiritual character. Leadership skills, educational values and their financial need is also considered in the prayerful selection made by the scholarship committee.

SEWING CIRCLE ARTISTIC FINGERS

Sewing Circle and Artistic Fingers is a place where you can bring your God-given talents, crafty ideas and artistic desires to be transformed into tangible items. We provide a platform and resource for sewing ideas and artistic visions that will inspire you. There are so many things you can do; just to name a few, you can: sew, quilt, crochet, draw, make jewelry, tile, bake, and even do woodcrafts. The sky is the limit for what you can create.

GLITTER, GLITZ & GLAM

Glitter Glitz & Glam is a day aimed to spend quality time with the young girls at Refreshing Springs ages 4-12. This animated day is based off of an exciting theme each year and is centered around fun, education and inspiration in Christ. Our young princesses are taught true beauty starts from the inside. We highlight creativity, courage and sense of high self-worth. Your young daughter will be inspired to believe she can achieve anything.
